Holy crap! And just like that, it’s time for more football! Seems like just yesterday there were games to watch, kick back and scream at the TV at for an afternoon and evening of snacking, hydrating and “investing.”
Actually it was just yesterday, as this time of the year the league infuses the weekend with Saturday games too which thankfully helps diminish the soul crushing post Christmas and New Years back to reality depression. And so it went on Saturday with the Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars notching victories, though certain Tennessee Titans fans could talk solace in their fellas at least covering the spread. An immoral victory being better than none at all.
Before we get into my selections for today I would just like to update you on the Damar Hamlin situation. As a great many of you know have and heard and probably even witnessed, Hamlin, the Bills’ cornerback, was given on-field CPR, defribulated several times and taken off the field in an ambulance in the first quarter of the Monday night game in Cincinnati. Players from both sides took knees, many wept and both head coaches agreed to defy the league’s “five minute break” and chose not to continue the game, out of respect for a fallen comrade…
