“Scope” out these indispensable words of wisdom, in honor of the bitchin’ barrister’s 168th birthday 🎂
Greetings killer quote fans! For those not in the Darrow know, according to Wikipedia, Clarence Seward Darrow (April 18, 1857 — March 13, 1938) was an American lawyer who became famous in the 19th century for high profile representations of trade union causes, and in the 20th century for several criminal matters, including the Leopold and Loeb murder trial, the Scopes “monkey” trial, and the Ossian Sweet defense.
Mr. Darrow was also a leading member of the American Civil Liberties Union and a prominent advocate for Georgist economic reform.
Furthermore (as if all that wasn’t enough) Clarence was also well known as a public speaker, debater, and writer. Rumor has it he could dance a mean fandango too. But that has yet to be proven.
And man oh Manischewitz, he could turn a phrase with the best of ’em. Don’t take my word for it. Let’s let Mr. D speak for himself.
